Doug Ohman - Looking Back, Minnesota 150 Years Ago

Have you ever wondered what everyday life was like for the pioneers?

Come enjoy a nostalgic look back at the Minnesota frontier 150 years ago. Historian and storyteller Doug Ohman will bring our state’s early beginnings to life with images and stories that connect us to the people who came before us.

This program is hosted by the Roseau County Museum, Warroad Heritage Center, and Lake of the Woods County Historical Society.

Funding is provided by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council with support from the voters of Minnesota, through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Digital Newspaper Workshop

Learn how to navigate the MNHS Digital Newspaper Hub and utilize the vast resource that is available. Now that there are 40 years of Warroad newspapers on the website you can explore the history of Warroad through the website. This will be a free event held at the Heritage Center on October 27th at 6pm.

Season 4-Warroad History Trivia

Enjoy Warroad and Lake of the Woods based trivia at Lake of the Woods Brewing Company. Teams or individuals have 3 rounds to test their knowledge on the area’s past. Winners of the rounds receive 4 free drink tokens. At the end of the 3 rounds, a team is drawn at random to win a larger gift from Lake of the Woods Brewing Company. Trivia starts at 6pm and runs to about 8pm.
