Digitized Newspapers

Thank you to each and every business, organization, and person who contributed to our newspaper digitization project! The Warroad Heritage Center is beyond grateful for the support over the last several months in raising this money.

Now that funding has been raised, the Minnesota Historical Society has added the newspapers to their schedule. Due to work load at MNHS, the next batch will begin being digitized at the Minnesota Historical Society next August (2026). With approximately 8500 pages being digitized and added every other month until the project is finished with an estimated end in September or October of 2027.

Thankfully in the meantime, MNHS has completed the first batch of newspapers that includes The Warroad Plaindealer, The Commonwealth, and the Warroad Pioneer from 1899-1930 and The Warroad Pioneer from 2008-2019. These are accessible right now by clicking the link below!
